If you have not signed up for the 2005 Leadership Academy (LA) to take place at the National Meeting in St. Louis, please do so by September 1.
The Leadership Academy will be held at the Grand Renaissance Hotel on Saturday and Sunday, November 5-6. Saturday’s session will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. and materials will be provided for each participant upon arrival. A reception for all attendees will be held from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday following the session. On Sunday morning, from 7:30 – 8:00 a.m., a continental breakfast will be provided. Sunday’s session will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m
These sessions are geared toward preparing attendees for leadership positions at the branch and national levels. Presentations will include information on AALAS and the Foundation, tips on how to function as a board or committee member, and guidance in dealing with the media and public relations. Attendance will be at no cost to the representative.
In addition, the branch may also nominate one alternate representative to fill possible vacancies created by branches that do not send representatives. Nominations must be sent on the form provided and signed by the branch president to be valid.
