The Palms to Pines Branch AALAS congratulates Maya Monges-Aviles, recipient of the 2010 Palms to Pines Branch AALAS Training Scholarship.

The mission of the PTP-AALAS Scholarship Program is to provide an opportunity for scholarship recipients to further their knowledge and experience in the Laboratory Animal Care field by providing funds to attend a professional meeting.

The scholarship program funds up to $700 toward the attendance to a professional meeting or training opportunity within the laboratory animal care field (e.g. District 8 meeting, National AALAS, IACUC 101 training, LAWTE, etc.)

The scholarship recipient is required to present to the board and/or members of the branch a 5 – 10 minute presentation of their experience at the meeting and how the scholarship has benefited their career and the community.
